MAY 2025

May has been a month where all the different facets of my practice were very satisfyingly speaking to each other, in this case, through the kitchen…

It saw the first pouring of the new Troupe wine, wrapped in my latest label..

as well as having several of my paintings on the wall of the Delft Kitchen for the launch of SALON..

..And the release of Mafruha Ahmed’s wonderful recipe book Extended Lunch that I had so much fun illustrating..

Drawings from my sketchbook run through the book as well as a full kitchen utensils catalog to start.

The book - beautifully produced by Worms Magazine - is a collection of Maf’s recipes that she cooks at Young Space showing that lunch is more than just a midday refuel. She feels, when approached with care, it becomes a space for creativity, nourishment, and connection beyond what’s on the plate. And we all know I agree!!

I have loved working on this project so much. Especially, watching Maf whizz around her little kitchen in the morning - blackening aubergines and stirring steaming pots of stew - before serving up delicious bowls of lunch to everyone at Young Space who came to sit communally and eat and talk on long tables.

Talking of long tables, several of my paintings including Peeled Potato are featured on the wall of SALON’s Delft Kitchen

SALON, which launched this month, hosts shoppable room designs by Alice B. Davies that bring together craft led makers and curators and I’m so excited to be involved!
